Our plans for good Friday where dashed when we woke up to a winter wonderland that morning, the arrangement was that Marica’s parents should babysit Pelle and we where going to do work on Amie that needed both of our attendant. But since the traffic situation didn’t look that good her parents cancelled and we needed to rethink the situation.
We decided to go for it anyway and do things that we could do with Pelle staying in the boat too, and we managed to do quite a lot! the Battery monitor is installed correctly, some of our personal stuff are organized in the boat and the navigation station is looking pretty good.
Beside the fact that it was a bit difficult to enter the boat from the ladder, over the snowy deck and down in cockpit. It was very cozy to be in the boat with the heather on and the wind and snow whirling outside.
The rest of the Easter where sunny but with a cold wind blowing, and this made it suitable for more work inside, like installing new pentry LED light and a new stereo with speakers. We are starting to feel like things are coming together and feels like home. We had the time to do some cleaning in the saloon and galley and some old things like a broken barometer was put down and trowed away.
Coming up is some filter and anod changes on the engine, seal a leaking hatch, polish the hull and paint the bottom. Then a thousand of other small things but we will fix them when she is in the water.
Today was this years first walk in Vibram fivefingers barefeet shoes, 5,65 km in 1 hour 8 minuts. It was a lovely walk with Pelle in the sun, pretty tuff to walk barefoot after a long winter in ordinary shoes, both legs and back are a bit stiff. There are many different muscles you use when you go bare foot and it really feels natural and correct for the body. These shoes are also perfect for running, the first shoes I have tried that’s made it possible for me to run, all other shoes make my knees and back hurt so much that I can’t proceed running.
