Do we have a plan?

We also wonder what the plan is 🙂 We are leaving summer 2018! How,we have no idea. But somehow we are going to make it 🙂 There are some milestones how to get to the Canary Islands though.

We also wonder what the plan is 🙂 We are leaving summer 2018! How,we have no idea. But somehow we are going to make it 🙂 There are some milestones how to get to the Canary Islands though.

First of all the boat needs some job to be ready for ocean sailing but the fun part is how to reach the Canary Islands.

Hopefully we can sail her down to the Swedish west coast this summer and have her in the water over the winter, there are a lot of ice free marinas at the coast. We even might find a temporary place to live in over the winter season. Gothenburg would be very nice to stay, there is a  genuin interest in boats there, a real coast city. Unfortunately we can’t live on the boat in Sweden because of the agencies here. Living on a boat is not ok, it’s not a home, so you become a homeless if you do that.

Then do some work on the boat at spring 2018 and leave Gothenburg in June. Sailing down the west cost to Trelleborg then over to Kiel in Germany via Denmark to take the Kiel canal to Brunsbüttel. Then just going  along to Cuxhaven, Rotterdam, Calais, Portsmouth, Brest and maybe som places there between.

Then the notorious Biscaya to A Coruña and over to Lisbon then right to the Canary Islands A trip of about 2500 nm and two months. Then we take things from there,  we might just stay there the rest of our lives 😉

Right now we are consuming a lot of Youtube clips about sailing, and reading books about how every thing works with agencies and so on. You don´t get bored, that I can promise you. The list of books and movies at the topic to read and see can be made endless.

And it still don´t happen something on the boat, the weather is crap and I´m not feeling well. Since a few weeks back I´m home from work due to some health issues. Since a few years back I suffer from a lung disease called Sarcoidosis, and I realize I’ve been pushing myself a bit to hard at work for too long. This has lead us to where we are at now, aiming to get out of the “rat race”.

But all this means I don´t have that kind of energy and drive which is why we have been out of routine with the blogging for the last weeks. We prioritize to take care of our son and our selves and focusing on health and our plans.
